Wimbledon 2025: Carlos Alcaraz Shows Excellent Spirit, Applauds For Cameron Norrie As Latter Bids Goodbye To Centre Court After Straight-Set Defeat In Quarter-Final; Video
Spanish Tennis star Carlos Alcaraz couldn't help applaud for Cameron Norrie as he was leaving the Centre Court by bidding goodbye to the spectators after a straight-set loss in Wimbledon 2025 quarter-final at the Centre Court on Tuesday. In a video shared by Wimbledon on social media, Alcaraz displayed excellent sportsman spirit by clapping for Norrie.
Alcaraz, the Spainard, entered the tournament as one of the firm favourites to win the tournament, given he had defeated Jannik Sinner to win French Open 2025. The youngster lived up to the expectations by sending Norrie packing out of the tournament in straight sets 2-6, 3-6, 3-6 to progress to the semi-final.
"I'm just really happy to be able to play another semi-final here at Wimbledon" - Carlos Alcaraz
Following the match, Alcaraz stated that he is proud of himself to have defeated Norrie, claiming that hardly anyone works harder than him. The 22-year-old also admitted that it will be a tough battle against Taylor Fritz in the semi-final, stating, as quoted by Sky Sports:
"Really happy with the way I played against Cam. No one works harder than him, happy to see him play in this kind of match. I'm just really happy to be able to play another semi-final here at Wimbledon, it's super special. [Taylor] Fritz is playing great, the grass season for him has been really successful. I have played a few times against him. I'm just trying to focus and enjoy and live in this moment."
