ED Raids Actress Aruna’s Residence In Chennai Over Suspected Financial Irregularities
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday carried out searches at the residence of former actress Aruna in Neelankarai, Chennai, in connection with alleged illegal money transactions linked to her husband’s business.
A team of six ED officials arrived at the East Coast Road property early in the day to conduct the search. It is reported the raid is part of an ongoing investigation involving Aruna’s husband, Mohan Gupta, who runs a firm specialising in interior design and residential construction projects.
Aruna, a prominent face in Tamil cinema during the 1980s, is best known for her lead role in Bharathiraja’s Kallukkul Eeram. She stepped away from films after marrying Mohan Gupta.
Officials have yet to confirm whether any incriminating documents or unaccounted cash were seized during the operation. An official statement from the agency is expected following the conclusion of the search.
