Bybit Kickstarts India Blockchain Tour In Hyderabad, To Champion Crypto Literacy & Grassroots Engagement
Global cryptocurrency exchange Bybit has officially launched the India Blockchain Tour 2025, serving as the title sponsor of the eight-city initiative aimed at deepening blockchain awareness across the country. The opening event was held in Hyderabad on June 28 and attracted more than 1,000 participants from the Web3 community, including developers, students, investors, and industry experts.
The India Blockchain Tour, organised by Web3 consulting firm Octaloop, signals India’s growing influence in the global crypto ecosystem. With strong turnout and active engagement, the Hyderabad event established a tone of collaboration, innovation, and education for the rest of the tour.
Bybit Pushes for Responsible Adoption and Education
Bybit’s presence at the event highlighted its mission to drive responsible crypto adoption through grassroots engagement. The tour comes on the heels of Bybit's official registration with the Financial Intelligence Unit–India (FIU-IND), reinforcing its intent to operate within India’s evolving regulatory landscape.
The event featured prominent speakers, including Jayesh Ranjan, Chief Secretary for Special Projects and Investment Cell, Government of Telangana, who emphasised the potential of blockchain to reshape governance and industry in India.
From Hype to Fundamentals: Bridging the Knowledge Gap
Vikas Gupta, Country Manager for Bybit India, delivered a keynote titled “From FOMO to Fundamentals: Fixing India’s Crypto Literacy Gap.” In his address, he stressed the need for structured learning to support India’s rapidly expanding user base.
Gupta unveiled plans for upcoming hackathons and educational workshops in partnership with premier institutions like IIT Delhi and IIT Kharagpur. He also showcased tools such as Bybit Learn and Demo Trading to promote safe, informed participation in the crypto market.
India’s Tier-2 Surge and the Road Ahead
Gupta emphasised that India’s crypto growth is not confined to metros. Tier-2 cities like Surat and Indore are witnessing significant user interest, ranging from mainstream coins to DeFi and meme tokens. India currently leads the Global Crypto Adoption Index for the second year in a row, and projections suggest the domestic crypto market could cross $15 billion by 2035.
Bybit also hosted interactive sessions such as a crypto quiz and community engagement activities to keep the energy high throughout the Hyderabad event. The next stop on the India Blockchain Tour is scheduled for Ahmedabad on July 26, where Bybit aims to continue its mission of building a stronger, more educated Web3 community in India.
