From Norway to Canada: Overseas IT Employees Raise Voice Over Hinjawadi Infrastructure Woes (Watch Videos)
From Norway to Canada: Overseas IT employees have raised their voices regarding the ongoing infrastructure woes in Hinjawadi and have appealed to the government to prioritize resolving these issues. These professionals, whom have previously worked in Hinjawadi, shared their concerns about the poor state of roads, waterlogging during monsoons, and other basic infrastructure challenges faced by the area
The videos were reposted by Forum For IT Employees on X. The videos featured Basanagouda Patil, who now works in Norway and earlier worked in Hinjawadi.
Patil introduced himself and said that part of him still feels connected to Hinjawadi as it has shaped his career. He said that he saw the news on the infrastructure woes of the city and added that the loyal taxpayers have been suffering and it is high time that authorities take a decision and Hinjawadi deserves better infrastructure.
Another video was posted by Gaurav Sisodiya, who now works in Canada but worked in Hinjawadi from 2018 to 2021. He said that the videos on social media of infrastructure woes of Hinjawadi are painful. He said that although IT workers pay huge taxes, they do not get benefits. He appealed to the government to pay attention to this so that issues get resolved, more companies will come, and more jobs will come to the city.
Hinjawadi woes
The infrastructure woes of the Hinjawadi area have once again hit the headlines this year, with visuals of waterlogging in June going viral, showing a PMPML bus submerged halfway in water.
For the uninitiated, in the Rajiv Gandhi IT Park, Hinjawadi, incidents of waterlogging during the monsoon have been occurring repeatedly. Along with this, citizens and IT companies are facing several challenges related to traffic, roads, electricity, and other basic infrastructure.
Meanwhile, Supriya Sule, who represents the area in Parliament as it falls under the Baramati constituency, said on Wednesday: "I am seeking time from the Chief Minister for Hinjawadi. Lakhs of people visit Rajiv Gandhi Park. This is not a political issue. If so much effort can be directed toward roads worth ₹70,000–₹90,000 crore, then why such apathy towards Hinjawadi?"
