Books on Dr Ambedkar, Maharishi Dayanand released at Rohtak varsity
A book release ceremony was organised today by Vivekananda Library of Maharishi Dayanand University, in which Vice-Chancellor (VC), Prof Rajbir Singh, released books on “Dalit and Mahila Utthan Mai Dr Ambedkar ka Yogdan” and “Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati”.
The VC described Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar and Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati as true heroes of society. He said, “Both these personalities are not only the source of inspiration for their time, but also for today’s youth.” He said the contribution made by Dr Ambedkar for social equality, education and women empowerment were still relevant today.
At the same time, Maharishi Dayanand’s thinking and thoughts related to education were helpful in connecting the new generation with moral values, the VC said.
Prof Rajbir also announced the publication of 50 books under the banner of the MDU Press Publications on the occasion of the golden jubilee year of the university. He said in the coming time, the book release ceremony would be given an even more comprehensive and impressive form, so that the intellectual environment of the university gets new direction and momentum.
The VC said the academic and intellectual environment in MDU would be further strengthened. This would enable students, researchers and faculty members work in a rich and inspiring academic environment. The Dean, Academic Affairs, Prof Harish Kumar, said to realise the dream of a developed India and to bring harmony in the country, it was necessary to adopt the ideas of Swami Dayanand Saraswati and Dr BR Ambedkar. While congratulating both the authors, he appreciated Vivekananda Library for organising the book release ceremony.
Librarian Dr Satish Malik while giving the welcome speech in the beginning called upon the youth to develop the habit of reading. Deputy Librarian Dr Seema conducted the programme and expressed gratitude.
Writer Vikram Singh Dumoliya while presenting the gist of his book highlighted the untouched aspects of Dr Ambedkar’s contribution to Dalits and women upliftment. Litterateur and retired MDU Professor Dr Anjana Garg presented the gist of Dr Madhukant’s book and described it important for developing moral values in children through literature.
Litterateurs Dr Shyam Kaushal, Dr Ramakanta, Prof Rajkumar, Prof Desraj, Prof Jitendra Prasad, Dr Shri Bhagwan, Dr Jarnadan Sharma, Dr. Pratap Rathi, Selfie with Daughter campaign founder Sunil Jaglan, Chanchal Nandal, along with senior university officials, professors, authors, researchers and students were present on the occasion.
