June VRS show resilient growth amidst market fluctuations

JAMMU, July 9: The Vehicle Retail Sale (VRS) in June show resilient growth amidst market fluctuations.
As per a handout issued by Sanjay Aggarwal, Chairperson, FADA, in J&K the 2-Wheeler category witnessed a growth of 15.49% at 8,919 units in June 2025, as compared to 7,723 units in June 2024.
The 3-Wheeler category witnessed a growth of 3.48% at 893 units in June 2025, as compared to 863 units in June 2024.
The Commercial Vehicle category witnessed a downfall of -15.80% at 602 units in June 2025, as compared to 715 units in June 2024.
The CE category witnessed a growth of 16.36% at 64 units in June 2025, as compared to 55 units in June 2024.
The Passenger Vehicle category witnessed a downfall of -8.35% at 3,720 units in June 2025, as compared to 4,059 units in June 2024.
The Tractor Vehicle category witnessed a growth of 7.46% at 317 units in June 2025, as compared to 295 units in June 2024.
In J&K the total retail is 14,515 in June’25 compared to 13,710 in June’24 thereby registering a growth of 5.87% YoY.
Sanjay Aggarwal said that June 2025 presented a mixed bag for the automobile sector in Jammu & Kashmir with YoY % growth of 5.87%.
“While footfalls in showrooms remained steady in some areas, actual conversions were slower than expected. Economic uncertainty, coupled with erratic weather and delays in monsoon-related agricultural activity, affected customer sentiment—particularly in rural and semi-urban pockets,” he added.
