Goods Train Derails Due To Landslide Near Punjab's Madhopur Station

Rail traffic near Madhopur station in Punjab was disrupted on Thursday after a landslide sent debris tumbling onto the tracks, causing a freight train to derail.

According to railway officials, the engine and three wagons of the goods train came off the rails following the incident. Thankfully, there have been no reports of injuries so far.

Authorities are working to clear the debris and restore normal rail services in the affected section.

In a similar incident, a freigh train derailed between Kathua and Lakhanpur in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, reported IANS. The train was heading from Jammu towards Pathankot and the railway teams are working to restore traffic on the route.
