The Vegan India Conference 2025, India’s premier event dedicated to plant-based innovation and sustainable living, wrapped up its vibrant fourth edition at the Novotel Hotel in Juhu, Mumbai. Organised by Vegan First, the country’s leading community-driven platform championing conscious consumption, the conference brought together an inspiring mix of policymakers, entrepreneurs, industry leaders, and passionate advocates.

Celebrating ethical living with prominent guests

Adding gravitas to the event, Hon’ble Dr. Justice Dhananjaya Y. Chandrachud attended as the Guest of Honour. Renowned animal rights crusader and former Member of Parliament Smt. Maneka Gandhi graced the conference as the Chief Guest. Their presence underscored how ethical, sustainable choices are increasingly entering mainstream policy and public discourse in India.

The summit also honoured prominent personalities driving change. Actress and singer Zahrah S. In the fashion category, EORI Vegan Leather received the Fashion Icon in Innovation Award for pioneering bioleathers crafted from eucalyptus fibers and upcycled industrial waste-an important step towards cruelty-free and climate-positive alternatives in the apparel industry.

A platform for innovation, collaboration, and learning

Over 1,000 delegates, 65+ expert speakers, and 45 trailblazing exhibitors gathered over two days to showcase groundbreaking advancements in vegan food, sustainable fashion, health solutions, and environmental stewardship. Attendees explored everything from next-generation meat alternatives and dairy-free yogurts to vegan desserts and innovative plant proteins.

The conference menu delighted participants with artisanal cheeses, plant-based ice creams, and novel products redefining how India eats. Live cooking demonstrations allowed visitors to taste and learn how to integrate these options into daily life.

Workshops and advocacy for a compassionate future

Beyond product showcases, the Vegan India Conference offered advocacy bootcamps, career mentoring sessions, and thought-provoking panels discussing the role of artificial intelligence in accelerating vegan activism. These immersive experiences aimed to equip attendees with the tools to make plant-based living accessible, practical, and impactful.

Palak Mehta, Founder of Vegan India Conference, reflected on the mission behind the event, “Our vision has always been to catalyze the growth of the plant-based sector. Each year, we see a surge of individuals and organizations uniting to build a sustainable ecosystem, and that fuels our commitment.”

India’s growing role in the global plant-based movement

India, with its deep cultural roots in vegetarianism and Ayurveda, is rapidly emerging as a leader in the global shift toward climate-conscious and cruelty-free consumption. The resounding success of the 2025 conference mirrors this momentum and showcases how innovation and compassion can work hand in hand.

As the plant-based economy continues to evolve, the Vegan India Conference remains a vital hub where pioneers, policymakers, and conscious consumers collaborate to shape a kinder, healthier future.
