Caught on Camera: Truck Crashes Into Pit During Road Inspection In Beed, Engineer, Villagers Narrowly Escape
An engineer, along with his entire team, had come to Beed in Maharashtra to inspect ongoing road repairs when, suddenly, a truck passing through Khadki village near Vadwani taluka of Beed overturned as the road caved in. The incident sparked chaos and a stampede, highlighting the dangerous condition of the damaged road and raising serious concerns about safety and infrastructure in the area.
The incident, captured on video and widely circulated on social media, shows people running for safety, with some jumping into a pit dug for bridge construction to avoid getting trapped under the truck.
The incident took place in Khadki, Vadwani taluka, amidst ongoing road renovation work.
Incident took place during on-site inspection
The engineer was on-site following complaints raised by local students regarding the dangerous condition of the road. The students had previously taken the issue directly to the Chief Minister’s Gram Sadak Department, demanding the construction of an alternative route, as the bridge work rendered the existing road unusable. Responding to these concerns, the engineer had assured that he would personally inspect the area and notify the responsible contractor.
The collapse occurred on Wednesday during his inspection. Eyewitnesses said that the truck lost stability due to the poor condition of the road and fell dramatically near the excavation site. Fortunately, there were no casualties reported in the incident.
