Indira Krishnan reveals inside details of Ranbir Kapoor-Yash starrer Ramayana, says film is captured with…, uses VFX Tech from…
They say thought becomes things, and this thing proved to be right for one actress who once unknowingly expressed a whimsical wish, which two years later manifested into her reality. The actress in the picture is none other than Indira Krishnan. During her shoot for Animal, she expressed a light-hearted wish that later turned out to be true for her.
Manifestation that Turned Reality
In 2023, she appeared in the film Animal, where she portrayed the role of Rashmika Mandanna’s mother. During that time, Rashmika said that she would love it if Indira would play her mother again, and Indira jokingly added that she would love to play Ranbir Kapoor’s mother someday. Cut to now, Indira is all geared up with her portrayal of Kaushalya, the mother of Lord Ram, played by Ranbir Kapoor, in Nitesh Tiwari’s grand retelling of Ramayana.
Ramayan: Mass Production
Recently speaking about this, Indira revealed that when she walked into the Ramayana production office, Ranbir Kapoor reminded he of this serendipity, and she was more than elated.
However, besides the role that manifested into reality, it was also the larger-than-life production that left her spellbound. Indira revealed that she was introduced to a VFX setup that had previously been used in Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar. It also entailed an advanced system with 86 cameras that captured her movements from every angle. The collected data helped create a young version of the character that ensures the highest precision.
She also revealed that this experience wasn’t just about costume fitting. It captured every detail, right from her walk to her posture, and was diligently used to capture the restraint of Kaushalya. From the high visuals to the attention to detail, she was highly impressed with the production team.
In a recent interview, she spoke about the massive scale of the film and how it was challenging to coordinate such a huge cast. She also praised the director Nitesh Tiwari’s impeccable storytelling, calling him a “man of visuals”.
Ramayana is all geared up to release in two parts. The first one will hit the theatres in Diwali 2026 and the second one in Diwali 2027
