Sharaa Mulls Demilitarized Zones, Golan "Concessions" As Syrian, Saudi Figures Visit Israel
Syrian interim president Ahmad Al-Sharaa reportedly held a secret meeting on July 9 with a top Israeli official in Abu Dhabi. Sharaa’s meeting with Israel’s National Security Advisor, Tzachi Hanegbi, was coordinated directly by UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed, reports Al Mayadeen. Both al-Sharaa and Hanegbi arrived in Abu Dhabi aboard separate flights that landed at nearly the same time, Al Maydeen said citing diplomatic sources. The meeting marks what the sources called “a significant development” in the ongoing clandestine normalization talks between Damascus and Tel Aviv. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia is closely watching Syria and Israel negotiations as a potential gateway to normalizing its own ties with Tel Aviv, Israeli Kan public broadcaster reported. A Saudi source told Kan that Riyadh views Tel Aviv- Damascus rapprochement as a possible foundation for a trilateral pact involving the US and the Palestinian Authority. n18oc_world n18oc_crux0:00 INTRODUCTION1:28 SHARAA “OFFERS CONCESSIONS” TO ISRAEL 3:08 SAUDI, SYRIAN FIGURES VISIT ISRAEL4:40 SAUDI ARABIA WATCHES ISRAEL-SYRIA TALKS KEENLY5:20 SHARAA -TRUMP SHARE BILLBOARD IN DAMASCUS
