Panchkula cops reunite missing girl with family

The Panchkula Police reunited a three-year-old girl with her family within an hour she went missing on Wednesday, all thanks to the alertness of a local autorickshaw driver and the police efficiency.

The child had reportedly wandered away from her home around 10 am. Bhupendra, an autorickshaw driver, saw the girl crying by the roadside, nearly a km from her home. He immediately took her to the Sector 16 Police Post.

Acting swiftly, the police initiated efforts to trace the girl’s family. Announcements were made through public address system at local places of worship, including mosques, gurdwaras and temples, to spread the word about recovery of a missing child. The strategy worked and within a short time the girl’s family reached the police post. The child was reunited with her parents, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the police.

DCP Shrishti Gupta commended the alertness of Bhupendra and the cops.
