Karnataka Woman Seriously Injured After Husband 'Bites Off' Her Nose During Argument Over Loan

In a case of domestic violence, a 30-year-old woman named Vidya sustained severe facial injuries after her husband allegedly bit off the tip of her nose during a heated argument over loan repayment. The incident took place on the afternoon of July 8 in Mantaraghatta village, located in Channagiri taluk of Davanagere district, Karnataka.

According to the police, the couple got into an intense argument which suddenly escalated. In a fit of rage, the husband, identified as Vijay, reportedly assaulted Vidya, causing her to fall. Vijay allegedly bit off a portion of her nose during the altercation, as per a report on NDTV.

Hearing Vidya's cries, nearby residents rushed to the scene and immediately took her to the government hospital in Channagiri. Due to the seriousness of her injuries, she was later transferred to a private hospital in Shivamogga for further treatment. Her condition is currently reported to be stable, reported India Today.

Vidya has since filed a formal complaint, and an FIR has been registered against Vijay. Although the initial report was lodged at the Jayanagar Police Station in Shivamogga, the case has been transferred to the Channagiri Police Station in Davanagere district, which has jurisdiction over the location where the assault occurred.
