MP Bansuri Swaraj, Mayor Raja Iqbal Singh visit Rajender Nagar to review monsoon preparedness

Lok Sabha MP Bansuri Swaraj and Delhi Mayor Raja Iqbal Singh conducted a joint inspection of Rajender Nagar constituency on Friday to take stock of civic amenities and assess preparedness during the monsoon season.

Accompanied by local MLA Umang Bajaj, Councillor Arti Chawla, and senior officials from the Government of NCT, Delhi, and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), the inspection covered key areas vulnerable to civic issues during heavy rains.

During the visit, MP Bansuri Swaraj directed the Public Works Department (PWD) to fast-track pothole repairs across the constituency and called on MCD officials to step up sanitation measures to keep public spaces clean and hygienic.

Mayor Raja Iqbal Singh expressed satisfaction over the absence of waterlogging during the inspection and stressed that all departments have been instructed to stay on alert to tackle any potential problems. “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and with the guidance of the Delhi Chief Minister, we are committed to delivering best-in-class civic services to Delhi’s residents,” the Mayor said.

To promote environmental sustainability, Swaraj and Mayor Singh also planted saplings at an MCD park in the area, highlighting their commitment to greener urban spaces.
