Employees' Provident Fund Organisation Updates Members' Account Ahead Of The Scheduled Timeline, 8.25% Interest On PF Amount
The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has started updating members' accounts as part of the annual process ahead of the scheduled timeline. The interest on the PF amount at 8.25% will be reflected in the accounts as announced by the government earlier.
Reports indicate that PF interest at 8.25 percent for FY2024-25 has been credited into over 96.51 percent of EPFO accounts ahead of the scheduled timeline. The rest will be done likely this week.
According to TOI, EPFO will complete crediting 8.25% interest for 2024-25 into members' accounts this week, as stated by Labour Minister Mansukh Mandaviya.
“This year, the annual account updation had to be done for 13.88 lakh establishments having 33.56 crore member accounts, out of which till 8th July, interest has been credited in 32.39 crore member accounts of 13.86 lakh establishments," Mandaviya said, quoted by PTI. The minister added that the remaining accounts are expected to be updated within this week.
One can check the EPFO Balance in 2025 by using the UMANG App. One needs to log in with a mobile number and OTP. The next step is to navigate to EPFO and click on the 'View Passbook' option. One needs to enter the UAN and OTP to view the balance.
There are many other ways to access the EPFO account.
On the EPFO Website, epfindia.gov.in, one needs to click on 'Services' and then click on 'For Employees'. Then click on the 'Member Passbook' and log in using one's UAN and password to access the passbook.
One can also access the information through their mobile phones. One needs to give a missed call to 9966044425 from one's registered number. One will receive an SMS with the latest PF balance.

Login → Online Services → Claim (Form-31, 19, 10C)
Enter bank details, choose reason, and submit with Aadhaar OTP

Navigate to EPFO → Raise Claim
Fill the form and complete Aadhaar eKYC
3. Eligibility
Full PF: After 2 months of unemployment
Partial PF: For medical, home, marriage, etc.
Advance: Up to 75% PF on job loss after 1 month
4. Processing Time
Typically, 5–10 working days. Track via the UMANG or EPFO site.
