Ludhiana where homecoming means joy &… food

You truly understand what your city means to you when you have to leave it. I am a born and brought up Ludhianvi. I only realised its pull when I had to leave it for further studies.

Ludhiana isn’t just a place, it’s an emotion to me. The vibrant culture, the irresistible food, the buzzing streets and the warmth of its people make it unforgettable. Memories abound from childhood memories to midnight cravings. I remember and cherish — our innocent laughter echoing in parks where we played as kids; celebrating festivals painted with colours and friendships that time can’t erase. These moments can never be replicated.

I miss those spontaneous pastry runs, browsing through trendy clothes in its markets, and carefree catchups with school friends at our favourite cafes. Midnight cravings were hardly a problem. The city almost never sleeps. Most eating places are open late, others open early morning.

Now, every homecoming is a celebration. Rawat Ice Cream and Kumaran Dosa in Model Town are more than just food joints — they’re rituals. Ludhiana has shaped my identity, taught me joy and resilience. It’s where my values were nurtured, my ambitions sparked and my heart found a sense of belonging. No matter where life takes me, it will always be my home. Ludhiana is not just a place on the map; it lives in me.
