‘MITRA’s objective is to double Maha economy in 5 years’
At the 117th Annual General Meeting of IMC Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IMC) Praveen Pardeshi, Chief Economic Advisor to Chief Minister of Maharashtra and Chief Executive Officer, Maharashtra Institution for Transformation (MITRA) addressed the audience as the guest of honour. In his address, Pardeshi shed light on Maharashtra’s Perception and Foreign Direct Investment, government’s strategic thinking, investment efficiency, industrial and technological transition, and MITRA’s role and aspirational goals for the state of Maharashtra. Pardeshi noted that in the last two years Maharashtra has consistently achieved the highest percentage of FDI and the state’s FDI is significantly more than its share in GDP. He said MITRA is a think-tank tasked with long term strategic thinking and planning which involves people from outside the government, including start-ups, entrepreneurs, farmers and producers to address various issues. At the AGM, outgoing president Sanjaya Mariwala shared his thoughts and experiences at the chamber and Sunita Ramnathkar, Partner, Mitchell Group LLC, USA took over as the president of the IMC Chamber of Commerce & Industry. Mahendra Chouhan, MD, Mahendra & Ardneham Consulting took over as the vice president of the chamber.
