Armed miscreants create ruckus in Abohar, damage vehicles

Armed miscreants wielded knives and swords, created a ruckus, and escaped after breaking the windows of a dozen vehicles in the Nai Abadi area, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Abohar City‑2 police station. The district police officials had yesterday assured residents that lawlessness would not be tolerated.

Sahil, a resident of Street-10 in Nai Abadi, said that at around 10.30 pm, about six youths riding on two bikes smashed the windows of about 10 vehicles parked in the streets. When people came out after hearing the noise, the attackers had already fled. This incident was captured in the nearby CCTV cameras. People informed the police station about this, demanding that authorities take action and resume night patrolling in the area.

In Ramdev Nagari, late yesterday evening, some youths travelling in a car attempted to attack a local youth with sharp weapons. He managed to save his life by fleeing the scene.

A few days ago, miscreants targeted houses in Rajiv Nagari at night. They dared them to come out and face consequences for raising their voice against drug peddling. Video clips of the incident went viral, but action was awaited, residents say. Police claim they received no complaints about the incident.
