Babbar advises Rao to ensure equal development in region
Actor-turned-politician and former MP Raj Babbar, while addressing a news conference here on Sunday, advised Union Minister and Ahir stalwart Rao Inderjit Singh not to hold any discriminatory views in terms of development.
“Development should not be measured based on vote percentage. Once elected, a representative belongs to all people. Therefore, as a minister in the Central government and the Gurgaon MP, Rao should ensure equal development in the region,” said Babbar, who unsuccessfully contested Lok Sabha elections on the Congress ticket from Gurugram last year.
Earlier, Babbar also paid tribute to the late Rao Ram Mehar Singh, a leader of the Sangharsh Committee, by visiting his home in Bhagwanpur village. Notably, the committee is leading a campaign to get 200-bed hospital project executed in Bhagwanpur.
“Rao should not divide people based on numbers — who voted and who did not. This is not the right approach. I urge him to focus on equal development rather than viewing the public through this lens. The benefits of the proposed 200-bed hospital in the area will be for 100 per cent of the people, not just 40 or 60 per cent. This fight should not be turned into a political battle,” said Babbar.
He said “Rao is an important and influential figure in both — the government and the party — and his words cannot be ignored, hence he should ensure equal development of entire areas.”
