Taking a significant step towards ensuring clean and well-maintained roads, Deputy Commissioner Dr Himanshu Aggarwal along with senior officials of the district has adopted road stretches up to 10 km each under the ‘Punjab Road Cleanliness Mission’, aimed at transforming the condition of roads across the district.

Likewise, senior officers from various departments have also adopted 10 km stretch of road.
Dr Aggarwal said the mission is launched by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to make Punjab one of the cleanest and most liveable states.
“The objective is to maintain high standards of road cleanliness and civic infrastructure by assigning direct responsibility to officials for stretches of up to 10 km,” he said.
The Deputy Commissioner further said each officer will take responsibility for the upkeep of their assigned road stretch, which will include daily inspections, timely pothole repairs, clear road markings, maintenance of footpaths, functional streetlights, regular waste collection and overall civic cleanliness.
Dr Aggarwal stated, “Officers are also expected to analyse the root causes of recurring problems and suggest preventive measures to ensure long-term solutions,” he added.
The DC urged all officials to accord the top priority to this mission and ensure proper monitoring, reporting and resolution of issues on their assigned stretches.
Officials from various departments have been allocated responsibility for each road segment measuring up to 10 km, ensuring systematic and sustained efforts towards cleaner and safer roads across Jalandhar.
