Valdimir Putin supports Donald Trump on…, gives strong message to this Muslim country on nuclear enrichment

Iran’s nuclear program is again making news all over as Russian President Vladimir Putin surprisingly supported United States President Donald Trump’s tough stance. According to a report by the American news portal Axios, Putin gave a suggestion to Iran to accept and follow ‘zero enrichment’ during a conversation with Trump and Iranian officials. The report, quoting a European official, stated that the Russian President had asked Tehran to completely halt its uranium enrichment to ease the nuclear deal and to make negotiations with the US smoother. However, Iran outright rejected President Putin’s proposal, stating that it will not accept any restrictions on uranium enrichment.

What Was Iran’s Strong Reply To Putin And Trump?

“Any possible agreement must respect the rights of our people. This includes the right to enrich uranium. We will not accept any deal that does not include this right,” Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told diplomats in Tehran.

Is Iran Rethinking Nuclear Talks?

Araghchi also indicated that the Middle East country is thinking of restarting the stalled nuclear talks with America, clarifying that the talks will be acceptable only on the nuclear program, and Iran will not accept any discussion on its ballistic missile program or military capabilities.

Cooperation Between Iran And IAEA Has Not Ended

Araghchi stated that Iran’s cooperation with the IAEA will continue, but under a revised framework. The Iranian Supreme National Security Council will individually assess each IAEA request for access to nuclear facilities.

What Is Trump’s Stance And Possibility Of Talks?

White House special envoy Steve Witkoff stated that talks between his country and Iran could resume in the coming week. However, Trump said, “If there is a meeting and we can put something on paper, then it is fine.”

Israel-Iran War

A deadly armed conflict between the Middle East country and Israel started when Tel Aviv on June 13 launched a surprise airstrike on crucial nuclear facilities of Iran. Iran also responded and launched missile attacks on major cities in Israel. The United States joined the conflict and launched airstrikes on Iran’s major nuclear sites with its bunker buster bombs. Tehran also launched a retaliatory attack and targeted US military camps in Iraq. The 12-day conflict was stopped following US President Trump’s ceasefire announcement between the countries.
