Dhruv Jurel faces backlash over ordinary performance at Lord’s, Netizens say ‘He can’t be backup for Rishabh Pant’

Rishabh Pant is out of action as he sustained a finger injury, thus, Dhruv Jurel took the role of the wicketkeeper again on Day 4 of the Lord s Test. He had previously created an impact with a fantastic catch to dismiss Ollie Pope in the first inning, yet Day 4 marked a new test. His reflexes have been challenged against an unpredictable bounce of the pitch during the session and his day was worse off with his drop on a clear catch of the very first ball after lunch, something which earned criticism by the fans on social media.

The injury of Rishabh Pant has seen India a bit shaken up, as the stand-in Keeper Dhruv Jurel had a very tricky time keeping wickets on the Day 4. On his feet, Jurel has at times not been able to pick up deliveries cleanly against Akash Deep and Mohammed Siraj. He dropped a simple catch off Joe Root which was edged by Akash just after lunch. Luckily to India, it was a no-ball declared by the umpire, so the missed chance did not matter.

he second innings of England collapsed to 192 during the third session on Day 4 of Lord Pier Test. Washington Sundar was the best bowler of India in the innings as he took 4 wickets. India, meanwhile, have to score the total of 193 to win the game.
