Aludecor Launches India’s First Concrete-Finish Aluminium Composite Panel
Kolkata: In yet another first, Aludecor, a leading aluminium composite panel manufacturer in India known for the most disruptive innovations in the industry, launched the Mason Mark series today, which captures the timeless charm of concrete. The series is a tribute to the artisanal legacy of masons who have since time immemorial defined spaces with cement and concrete. The six shades of Mason Mark – with more to come soon – draw on concrete architecture that has evolved through history. Thus, the series besides offering the elemental allure of cement structures, contributes significantly towards reducing the carbon footprint given that cement is a major polluter.
In a townhall event today, Sourav Kabra, Director-Sales of Aludecor unveiled the product in presence of CMD, Ashok Kumar Bhaiya, the entire sales and production team and the marketing team. Kabra said: “Mason Mark honours the skilled masons whose dedication and craftsmanship have shaped the spaces we call home and laid the foundation of our cities.” Thanking the R&D and production team, he added: “This series further underscores Aludecor’s unparalleled prowess to complement architects’ unbound creativity.’
Coming up with a concrete-finish was a response to the longstanding demand from architects to the ACP industry for a design pattern or shades inspired by one of the oldest architectural crafts in the world. Gautam Saraswat, the Marketing Head of Aludecor said, “Our deep-rooted culture of taking direct feedback from architects, with our CMD leading the way, bore fruit again with Mason Mark.”
THE SUSTAINABILITY EDGE OF MASON MARK ACP
Aluminium composite panel scores significantly over cement vis-à-vis environmental sustainability. Cement production is energy intensive and emits significant greenhouse gases. Hence, using more cement-based systems like Fibre Cement Boards means contributing a lot more to the carbon footprint. They have limited recyclability too.
On the other hand, the recyclability of aluminium is high which makes ACPs valued a lot for sustainability. The manufacturing process of aluminium composite panel too is much less energy intensive compared to concrete and steel, thus resulting in much lower carbon footprint.
A CONTINUATION OF THE JOURNEY OF HONOURING ARTISANAL LEGACY
It started with Rugged Metal, a series of ACP that was meant as a tribute to blacksmiths. Soon afterwards it was followed by Earth Coat, an ode to potters. And now it’s Mason Markwhich glorifies one of the oldest architectural crafts – masonry. The six shades are steeped in history, inspired by architecture of different civilizations as evident from their names: Roman Wall, Florence Wall, Bruges Wall, Giza Wall, Athena Wall and Yorkshire Wall. They come in both plain and striped versions. The raw, elemental allure of cement structures is quite accurately captured by the series besides adding an urbane sophistication.
