When asked why does he preach in Marathi when he visits Maharashtra, Swami stated that he keeps visiting Maharashtra, when in Bombay (Mumbai), people understand Hindi well but when he travels to the remote areas where people only speak in Marathi he felt guilty stating, "kash hum bhi Marathi jante hote', for not understanding and able to have smooth and lovely conversation with them and help them understand the teachings as well.
Further talking to PTI, Swami was questioned there are their people who are threatened by the way Raj Thackeray is trying to impose Marathi, could that be a reason behind learning Marathi? Swami stated that if someone says they are threatened to learn Marathi or been pressured to learn the language, we'll have a word with the person and here them out.
