Japanese bullet train will not run between Ahmedabad-Mumbai, Railway Ministry took a big decision; also gave the reason

Ahmedabad- Mumbai Bullet Train: A big update has come out on the ambitious bullet train project between Mumbai and Ahmedabad. The Railway Ministry said that now instead of bullet train, indigenous Vande Bharat train will be run on this route. The ministry has also given the reason for this.

Ahmedabad- Mumbai Bullet Train: Instead of the Japanese bullet train, the semi-high speed Vande Bharat train manufactured with indigenous technology will be run on the country’s first highly ambitious Ahmedabad-Mumbai High Speed Corridor (Bullet Train Project). This will be the first Vande Bharat train of Indian Railways, which will run at a speed of 250 kilometers per hour. Earlier it has been claimed that the bullet train will run between Mumbai-Ahmedabad at a speed of 320 kilometers per hour.

A senior Railway Ministry official said that the work on Surat-Balimora (50 km) section of Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Corridor is in its final stage and the trial run of Vande Bharat will start by the end of the year. After this, the general public will be able to travel by Vande Bharat (sitting) train by 2027. Two Vande Bharat trains of eight coaches each will run here. The maximum speed is 280 but it will run at a speed of 250.

What is the reason

When the agreement for the Ahmedabad-Mumbai High Speed Corridor project was signed, Japan had fixed the cost of the bullet train at Rs 16 crore per coach, but last year Japan increased its price by more than 3 times. At the time of supply, Japan increased the cost of the bullet train coach to Rs 50 crore per coach. Thus a bullet train of 16 coaches became Rs 800 crore.

Where and at what speed does the bullet train run?

Many countries of the world are far ahead of India in terms of speed of trains. Japan is at the top among them. After Japan is China and then France. The speed of bullet train in Japan is 603 km per hour and in China its speed is 600 km per hour. France is far behind both of them. Here the maximum speed of the train is 320 km per hour. Apart from this, in South Korea also the train runs at a speed of 305 km per hour. Let us tell you that in India, a claim has been made to run bullet train at a speed of 320 km per hour on the Ahmedabad-Mumbai corridor.
