Delegation of cricket assn meets DC
A delegation of Ludhiana District Cricket Association (LDCA), led by chairman of LDCA sub-committee Sunny Khosla, called on Deputy Commissioner (DC) Himanshu Jain on Monday to assist the association in smooth functioning. The DC is ex-officio chairman of the district cricket body. The delegation comprised Ashok Jain, Vinod Chitkara, Arun Goyal, Abineet Chopra and Varun Chitkara.
Khosla presented a memento and bouquet to the DC and apprised him of the activities of the association. He also informed the DC about certain individuals creating obstacles in the functioning of the LDCA. “These individuals attempted to dissuade the women cricketers from attending a felicitation ceremony, organised here at GRD Academy on June 28 to honour their achievement in the Punjab State Inter-District U-19 Cricket Championship wherein Ludhiana finished first runners-up,” said Khosla.
The DC assured the delegation his support, stating that the district administration was available to provide assistance if needed. This assurance could help address any challenges or obstacles the LDCA might be facing, ensuring they could function effectively and support aspiring cricketers in the district, added Khosla.
