New Delhi: Mohammad Siraj was dismissed in a shocking manner on the fifth day of the third Test between India and England. Siraj, along with Ravindra Jadeja, did struggle, but the team could not win. Siraj held off the English bowlers for 29 balls, but one delivery from Shoaib Bashir bounced more. After hitting the edge of the bat, the ball hit the stumps and the gills scattered.

Jadeja’s attempt failed

Ravindra Jadeja played a fighting innings of 61 not out. He kept hopes alive till the final overs, but as soon as Siraj was dismissed, India were all out for 170 and lost the match by 22 runs.

Stokes and Archer’s Fatal Spell

Captain Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer played a big role in England’s victory. Both took 3 wickets each to give India’s batting continuous blows. Archer struck out Pant and Sundar and also snagged a brilliant catch.

India’s position deteriorated in the first session

India needed 135 runs to start the day with six wickets to spare. But by losing crucial wickets like Pant, Rahul, Sundar and Reddy in the very first session, India gave England a chance to get back into the match.

Ben Stokes made a strong appeal against KL Rahul which was turned down by the on-field umpire. Stokes immediately took the review and ball tracking proved him out.

Pant and Sundar also failed

Jofra Archer blasts Rishabh Pant off stump on a brilliant delivery. After that, he caught Sundar himself with his own hands and then got caught by the wicketkeeper on a ball.

England take the lead in the series
India’s entire team was reduced to 170 and England won the match by 22 runs to take a 2-1 lead in the five-match series.
