The airlines have announced that flights are experiencing delays due to rain in Mumbai. The airline advised passengers commuting today to anticipate delays and to permit additional travel time because of reduced traffic speeds. Indigo, SpiceJet, Akasa Air have reportedly issued travel advisories that advising travelers to closely monitor their flight statuses, which can also be accessed through their apps, reinforcing their commitment to prioritizing passenger comfort and safety.

Since Monday night, Mumbai city and its suburbs have been facing relentless rainfall, which became heavier on Tuesday morning. The meteorological department has released a nowcast alert for moderate to heavy rainfall in Mumbai and Thane, along with chances of thunder, lightning, and strong winds. This alert, released at 10:30 am, is effective for four hours.

The entire Konkan region has been placed under a yellow alert for heavy rainfall by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), but no alert was issued for Tuesday. On Monday, the city saw 19 mm of rain, while the eastern suburbs experienced 35 mm and the western suburbs received 33 mm. Over the past 12 hours, Chembur recorded 67 mm, BKC 68 mm, and Santacruz 60 mm. Residents are urged to stay away from coastal and low-lying regions, and emergency help can be obtained by contacting Mumbai Police.
