How a 3 am email helped Android head Sameer Samat land a job at Google

Sameer Samat, head of Android, attributes his career to a 1999 email to Sergey Brin. Brin offered Samat a job after the email. Samat initially declined but Brin helped his startup. Samat later sold his startup and joined Google in 2008. Sundar Pichai later called Samat to lead Android. Samat now encourages entrepreneurial risk-taking.
