Babydoll Archi: How a jilted lover morphed his ex-girlfriend's pics, videos using AI, and fooled the world

The story of Archita Phukan aka 'Babydoll Archi' is yet another jilted lover revenge tale. This Assamese social media sensation, who went viral after a transformation reel synced to the viral Spanish track Dame Un Gurr, made headlines with news of her entry into the American adult entertainment industry. 

However, the truth behind the news was exposed and sent shock waves among netizens. According to officials, Pratim Bora, ex-lover of Archita Phukan, is the culprit behind the narrative and he was arrested. 

Bora, who wanted to take revenge after their separation, used AI to morph and create obscene pictures and videos of the victim. He then made a fake online persona by the name Babydoll Archi and uploaded the AI-generated content to pornography websites. This led to the assumption of her entry into the pornography industry. 

"The accused had used the image of the victim to generate several obscene content and pornographic materials using AI software. They have a past acquaintance, and he did it due to personal reasons," said Dibrugarh Senior Superintendent of Police (in-charge), Sizal Agarwal. Pratim Bora is a mechanical engineer by qualification and was arrested in Tinsukia.  

What started as a tactic to harass the victim turned out to be an avenue to earn money as well for Bora. "There was a subscription link to the adult content that he had posted, and people had to pay to access it. He earned about Rs 10 lakh through it. He kept on continuing the crime as he got greedy, though he had initiated it for harassing the woman," said Agarwal. 

Police have seized a laptop, mobile phones, a hard disk and other equipment from the accused to verify for digital evidence in the investigation. 

Officials have urged people to be careful while accessing online content and, have a closer look before circulating any information they receive on social media.
