These figures don’t include bonuses or equity which means the total package might be higher.

- Research Engineers: Up to $265,000
- Electrical Engineers: Up to $203,000
- Data Engineers: Up to $175,000
- Network Engineers: Up to $195,000
- Data Scientists: $133,000–$260,000
- Research Scientists: $155,000–$303,000
Even non-core engineering roles like product managers and finance professionals are getting annual pay packages more than Rs 2 crore in leadership positions.
Microsoft Salary Packages
However Microsoft offers strong compensation for a variety of roles like senior levels. A January 2025 Business Insider report shows that:
- Principal Software Engineers at Microsoft earn up to $215,000 (around Rs 1.8 crore)
- Senior Data Scientists: Around $200,000 (nearly Rs 1.7 crore)
- Corporate Vice Presidents: Up to $650,000 (roughly Rs 5.4 crore)
Microsoft’s high-end salaries are not topping Google’s peak engineering salaries, and are impressive especially for leadership and cross-functional roles. Research and program management roles also reportedly touch $240,000 (₹2 crore) annually.
While Google salary packages seem more in maximum base salaries, particularly in AI and core engineering, Microsoft offers a more consistent high-pay structure across its senior and strategic roles.
