Man falls from 2nd floor of sweet shop in Mustafabad, dies
Shockwaves rippled through Street Number 2 in Mustafabad, North East Delhi, after a 35-year-old confectioner tragically died following a fall from the second floor of the sweet shop where he worked.
The man, identified as Kalyan, fell in the wee hours of Tuesday from the Shabbir Sweet Shop building. Preliminary investigations suggest it was an accidental fall, although the police have launched a detailed inquiry to determine the exact circumstances.
“Moreover, we are waiting for the post-mortem report that will give a clear picture regarding the death," an official said.
The area around the shop, once bustling with customers celebrating happy moments with sweets, remained closed for the day.
On the corner wall of the shop, a date was written mentioning date and address of the closed shop, giving a hint about the unfortunate incident.
The area wore a deserted look and the neighbours expressed shock at the incident. “We are perturbed to learn about his death and is an unfortunate incident,” said a bystander said.
The owner of the shop and workers refused to speak about the incident.
Kalyan was immediately rushed to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead, he added.
