Six more held for aiding gangsters in Shahabad dhaba firing case

A team of the special task force (STF), Karnal, has arrested six more persons in connection with a firing incident at a dhaba in Shahabad, Kurukshetra district, on June 26. They were allegedly providing financial support and illegal weapons to the gangsters involved in the firing.

The arrests were made during an operation conducted on July 14 in Karnal, as part of the ongoing investigation into the attack at Aman Dhaba, Shahabad (Kurukshetra), where two unidentified assailants opened fire with the intent of extortion and intimidation. One of the attackers entered the premises and threw a threatening letter at the complainant before fleeing the scene.

The authorities said the accused played a key role in aiding the gang by supplying funds and arms.The arrested accused have been identified as Palwider Singh, Jot Singh, Prince Kumar, Hemant Rana and Rohit Bhola, all residents of Yamunanagar and Vikesh Saini of Ambala.

The operation was conducted under the guidance of Wasim Akram, Superintendent of Police, STF, Aman Kumar, Deputy Superintendent of Police, STF, Karnal, and Inspector Deepender Singh, in-charge of the STF Unit, Karnal. The spokesperson said a case under Sections 111(2) (B), 3(5), 109(1) of the BNS and Sections 25/27-54-59 of the Arms Act was registered at the Shahabad police station and the investigation was handed over to the STF, Karnal. The police have produced the six accused and another arrested earlier in the court, from where three have been taken on three -day police remand. Earlier on July 9, during the probe, the main accused Sohardh Shivam, alias Munna of Yamunanagar, was arrested. Further interrogation led to the identification of the six accomplices. Last month, two accused were already arrested in the case.
