3 more liquor zones go under hammer in Yamunanagar

With the auction of three more liquor zones, the Excise and Taxation Department has successfully auctioned 51 liquor zones out of 55 in Yamunanagar district so far. It took one and a half month for the Excise Department to auction 51 liquor zones. The auction commenced in the district on May 31.

The contractors were not taking interest allegedly due to the threats from miscreants.

According to information, the Excise and Taxation Department auctioned three more retail liquor zones of country and Indian Made Foreign Liquor vends in the district on July 14.

The reserve price was fixed at Rs 26,10,63,000 and they were allotted for Rs 27,13,27,999, an increase of 3.8 per cent.

The department auctioned liquor zones of Durga Garden-Gurunank Pura, Main Bazaar (No. 2),Old Radaur Road and Lakkar Mandi-Saharanpur Road (No 1).

The Excise and Taxation Department has carved out 55 liquor zones in the district with a total reserve price of 484.77 crore.

Alok Passi, Deputy Excise and Taxation Commissioner, Yamunanagar, said the auction of the remaining four liquor zones would be carried out in near future.
