Nepali man found killed in Theog area

The body of an unidentified Nepali man was found under suspicious circumstances in Theog subdivision of district Shimla, police officials confirmed on Tuesday.

The discovery was reported by Ankush Sharma, a resident of Kalind village in Theog, who stated in his complaint that he had employed two Nepali workers. On Monday, while the workers were walking from Kalind to Mahori, they spotted a man lying motionless on a pathway midway through their route. Suspecting foul play, they immediately informed Ankush Sharma, who then notified the local gram panchayat and the police.

A police team from Theog reached the location and recovered the body. The team also conducted a thorough search of the area, collecting key pieces of evidence from the suspected crime scene.

Theog DSP Siddharth Sharma confirmed the incident and said a case under Section 103 (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita has been registered. He added that prima facie, it appears to be a case of murder and that the victim was allegedly killed by unidentified individuals. The identity of the deceased has not yet been established.
