Students Just Got Smarter With Gemini AI: What’s Included And Why You Might Want To Sign Up Fast
Google is giving college students in India a major digital boost. Starting now, eligible students can claim a free one-year subscription to Gemini Pro, the tech giant’s advanced AI tool suite, which normally costs Rs 19500 annually. The offer is open until 15 September 2025, and it’s designed to integrate AI into everyday student tasks, from studying and note-taking to job preparation and creative work.
The move follows a Google-Kantar study, which found that a staggering 95% of student users in India feel more confident using Gemini daily, and three in four are actively seeking an AI collaborator in their lives. With those findings in mind, this initiative aims to make high-end AI tools more accessible to young learners.
Free Gemini Pro Access: What Students Will Get
With the complimentary Gemini Pro plan, students gain access to Google’s top-tier Gemini 2.5 Pro model. This allows for unlimited help with homework, writing, brainstorming, and exam prep. Features include Gemini Live for real-time voice interaction, Deep Research for more tailored academic digging, and NotebookLM with higher usage limits for organising notes.
They also get access to tools like Veo, for turning text into video, and Flow, which helps guide creative work. All of this is tightly integrated into widely-used Google apps, Docs, Gmail, Slides, and Sheets, making it easier for students to use AI within their usual workflows.
Additionally, the offer includes 2 TB of cloud storage across Google Drive, Gmail, and Photos. That’s more than enough space for projects, portfolios, and backups.
Who’s Eligible And How To Sign Up
The offer is open to students aged 18 and above who are currently enrolled in a recognised Indian college or university. Eligibility is verified through SheerID, a student verification platform. Once verified, students will have one full year of access from their activation date.
While AI in education still sparks debate, Google’s approach here is less about replacing learning and more about supporting it, helping students feel more capable, creative, and organised. With a limited sign-up window, students interested in the offer are encouraged to visit the official Google Gemini student offer page and complete their registration before 15 September 2025.
