Gujarat Shocker: Monster Father Throws 7-Year-Old Daughter Into Canal In Front Of Wife In Kheda; Arrested

In a shocking incident, a man allegedly threw his seven-year-old daughter into a canal in front of his wife in Gujarat's Kheda district on July 10. The matter surfaced after the body of the child was recovered from the canal. The accused, Vijay Solanki, was arrested by the police.

Solanki reportedly threw her daughter into the canal because he was not happy and wanted a son. Notably, the couple also has a three-year-old daughter.

On July 10, Solanki took his wife and elder daughter on a bike to a temple, reported The Times of India. However, on the way back home, the accused reportedly stopped the motorcycle near the Vaghawat bridge over the Narmada canal and threw his daughter Bhoomika in the water.

Solanki also threatened his wife, Anjana, with divorce if she told anyone about the incident. During the initial police investigation, Anjana told the police that Bhoomika had slipped and fallen into the canal while watching fish, reported TOI.

When the body was recovered, the police became suspicious. The accused's wife told her brothers about the crime. Later, she filed a complaint against Solanki. As per Anjana's complaint, the accused had taken her and Bhoomika to the temple as part of his conspiracy to kill the seven-year-old daughter.

The complaint further stated that Solanki faked a leg cramp to stop the bike and threw Bhoomika into the canal. As per Anjana, the accused was not happy with two daughters and wanted a boy.

The police became suspicious about the foul play as initial statements of the couple were not convincing, said Kheda SP Rajesh Gadhiya, as reported by TOI. A case has been registered against Solanki under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nayay Sanhita (BNS).
