There will also be food plazas and petrol pumps on these expressways.

New Expressways: In view of the increasing number of electric vehicles, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has taken a big decision. After the Lucknow Expressway, charging facility for electric vehicles will be available in two more expressways.

The construction of Gwalior and Aligarh Expressways will start in two months. This work will last for 22 to 24 months. Both expressways will start from Agra. Apart from the charging station, there will be food plazas, one to two petrol and CNG pumps on both sides of the expressway. The work of identifying the place for this has started.

Both these expressways will be of six lanes. They will be constructed by NHAI Gwalior and Agra section. An NHAI official said that the number of people using electric vehicles is increasing rapidly. New models are coming in the market every week. Due to this, vehicles are increasing.

There will be two stations on one side of Gwalior Expressway and two on the other side. Two vehicles can be charged at one point at a time. It will take 15 to 20 minutes. Similarly, two stations will be built on both sides of Aligarh Expressway. Separate toilets for men and women will be built. Veg and non-veg food will be available in the food plaza.

Gwalior Expressway

The expressway is being constructed from Gwalior to Rohta, Agra at a cost of Rs 4200 crore. A hanging bridge will be built on Chambal river. Permission has been received for this. The work will be started by NHAI Gwalior section from October. This work will continue for 24 months.

With the construction of the expressway, the distance from Agra to Gwalior will be reduced to 88 km. This journey will be completed in one and a half hours. Currently it takes two to two and a half hours. The expressway will be connected to the third phase of the inner ring road. This will make it easier to reach Yamuna Expressway, Lucknow Expressway or National Highway-19.

Aligarh Expressway

A 64 km long expressway will be built from Khandauli to Aligarh Expressway. This expressway will be connected to Yamuna Expressway. This will make it easier to reach Hathras and Aligarh. The construction of the expressway being built with Rs 3400 crore will start from October.

This work will be completed in 24 months. Hathras Road will be widened from Khandauli to Teedi Bagiya Chauraha. A divider will be made. An elevated road will be built from Teedi Bagiya Chauraha to Rambagh Chauraha.
