Aide of Fazilpuria’s ex-partner claims responsibility for attack

While the police have failed to make any arrests in the case of attack on Bollywood singer Rahul Fazilpuria, a man identifying himself as Sunil Sardhana has claimed responsibility for the attack. Through an Instagram account, Sardhana said the attack was not aimed to kill Fazilpuria but was a warning. According to the police, the account was created today and this is the only post there.

Fazilpuria, meanwhile, has left Gurugram for UP, accompanied by two security personnel. Sardhana accused Fazilpuria of duping his former partner Deepak of over Rs 5 crore and has given him a month’s time to return the money, threatening to kill all his associates and family along with him.

“If we wanted to kill him, we could have killed him outside his office. This was just a warning. He ruined brother Deepak’s life who took loans from people to make him a celebrity. He spent 10 years of his life to build Fazilpuria’s career and spent over 5 crores to do so. Fazilpuria had promised to repay the money, even if he was not successful, by selling his land. Today when he has achieved something and entered politics, he is growing too big for his shoes,” read the post.

Gurugram police spokesperson Sandeep Kumar said, “We are looking into the claim. We cannot at the moment confirm it.”

Fazilpuria’s associates, however, claim that he was an old-time gangster from Sonepat.

“Deepak was Fazilpuria’s manager and there was no loan or debt. He has shifted abroad. We have heard this gangster’s name, though we have not received any threat calls and have no contact with him,” said an associate.
