Mumbai News: Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha Backs Demand For Fast Local Train Halt At Parel Station During Janata Darbar; VIDEO
Mumbai: With increasing footfall at Parel station due to the presence of several multinational companies, corporate offices, and major hospitals, there is a growing public demand for fast local trains to halt at the station. Responding to this, Maharashtra Skill Development Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha announced that he will follow up with the railway authorities to ensure this request is considered.
The minister was speaking at a well-attended Janata Darbar (public grievance meeting) organized at the F South Ward office of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Tuesday.
Minister Lodha emphasized that the administration must directly connect with citizens to understand and address their problems. He said the initiative was in line with the direction of Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who has urged cabinet ministers to reach out to people through such forums. Lodha reaffirmed his commitment to working continuously until public grievances are resolved, thereby strengthening the roots of democracy.
A unique aspect of the Janata Darbar was the participation of officials from twelve different government departments, including representatives from the railway administration. Citizens welcomed the convenience of having various department heads under one roof, stating that it saved them from repeated visits to government offices.
During the event, citizens raised several pressing issues, including:
. Abandoned vehicles and unauthorized parking
. Traffic regulation problems
. Low water pressure
. Irregularities in ration distribution
. Redevelopment issues of housing societies
More than 300 citizens presented their complaints at the event. Immediate resolution was provided to over 200 individuals by senior officials on the spot. Minister Lodha instructed that the remaining complaints should also be followed up without delay, and appropriate action should be taken promptly.
The Janata Darbar was also attended by local MLA Kalidas Kolambkar, F South Ward Assistant Commissioner Mahesh Patil, and senior police officials.
