125 Units Free Electricity: Bihar assembly elections may be held in October-November this year. Before that every party is busy wooing the public. For the first time, Nitish Kumar has adopted Kejriwal’s trick and announced free electricity for the people of Bihar.

125 Units Free Electricity: Before the Bihar elections, Nitish Kumar has promised to provide free electricity like Arvind Kejriwal. He said that from August this year, he will give 125 units of free electricity every month in Bihar. On July 17, Nitish Kumar said that every family in Bihar will be given 125 units of electricity free every month. And it is going to start from August 1. Nitish Kumar has given this information by writing a post on the social platform X at 8 am on Thursday.

Nitish Kumar has written, ‘We have been providing electricity to everyone at cheap rates since the beginning. Now we have decided that from August 1, 2025, i.e. from the bill of the month of July, all the domestic consumers of the state will not have to pay any money for electricity up to 125 units.’

A total of 1 crore 67 lakh families of the state will benefit from this decision of Nitish Kumar. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has further written, ‘We have also decided that in the next three years, by taking consent from all these domestic consumers, they will be given the benefit of this by installing solar power plants on the roofs of their houses or at the nearest public place.’

Benefits will be available under Kutir Jyoti Yojana

Under the Kutir Jyoti Yojana, the state government will bear the entire cost of installing solar panels for very poor families. Along with this, the rest of the people will also be given government assistance to install solar panels. Due to this, domestic consumers will no longer have to spend up to 125 units of electricity, and according to an estimate, up to 10 thousand megawatts of solar energy will be available in the state in the next three years.

Rain of gifts

Earlier, the Bihar government had announced to increase the pension amount on June 24. Nitish Kumar had increased the pension amount of the elderly from Rs 400 per month to Rs 1,100 in one go. Also, a few days ago, he had also promised to give jobs to 1 crore people.

Nitish Kumar has promised that in the next 5 years he will give 1 crore jobs in Bihar. Nitish’s cabinet has also approved this proposal. A policy will be made so that the promise of giving jobs to 1 crore people can be fulfilled. Besides, a high-level committee will be formed under the chairmanship of the Development Commissioner to explore job options and give suggestions.
