Aadhaar card may be closed
UIDAI has alerted parents on social media platform X that mandatory biometric update will make it possible to have easy access to school admission, entrance exam, scholarship and DBT benefits. Along with this, the authority has instructed that in case the Aadhaar Biometric Update of a child above 7 years of age is not updated on time, his Aadhaar can be deactivated and he may be deprived of all the benefits.

Along with social media alert, Aadhaar regulator is also appealing for this through SMS on mobile numbers registered in Aadhaar of such children. UIDAI has clearly said that the biometric update or MBU process of Aadhaar for children aged 5-7 years is currently free, that is, no charge is taken for this. There is no fee charged. After 7 years, a fee of Rs 100 has to be paid to get this work done.
What is the rule for Baal Aadhaar?
Talking about the rules related to making Baal Aadhaar, Aadhaar card of children between 0–5 years is made without biometric and to get it made, only the child’s photo, name, date of birth, address and documents of parents are required, whereas no biometric is necessary till this age limit. However, when the child completes 5 years of age, it is necessary to update his fingerprint, iris scan and latest photo as a biometric update.
Children’s Aadhaar is blue in color
Let us tell you that the Aadhaar card of children is different from that of adults. Actually, when Aadhaar card is issued for children, its color is blue. Blue Aadhaar card is also called ‘Baal Aadhaar’. According to UIDAI, the Aadhaar card of a newborn child is made through the birth discharge certificate and the Aadhaar card of the parents.
