Instagram adds royalty-free music and new voice effects to Edits app

Meta has rolled out three new features for its video editing app, Edits, aimed at enhancing creative tools for content creators. The latest update includes a royalty-free music discovery tab, expanded keyframe editing capabilities for iOS users, and 10 additional voice effects.

The new royalty-free music feature enables users to browse and select tracks from a dedicated tab, simplifying the process of adding music to videos without copyright concerns or monetisation restrictions. This addition is integrated within Edits’ existing music discovery function.

In a further enhancement for precision editing, Edits is expanding its keyframe editing interface. Initially introduced last month, the upgraded keyframe tools allow for more exact placement of stickers, text, and cutouts throughout video timelines. The update is currently available on iOS only.

Additionally, Edits now includes 10 new voice effects. The effects expand on those added in May and offer users options such as robot or ghost voices, aimed at boosting creative flexibility for short-form video content.

These updates are available in the latest version of the Edits app, as Meta continues its regular release cadence. The app supports video creation for both Instagram and Facebook, where video remains the leading content format in terms of engagement.
