Navi Mumbai Grabs 3rd Spot As Maharashtra Cities Shine in Cleanliness Rankings
In the Swachh Survekshan Awards 2024-25, Maharashtra stood tall with four of its cities earning top honours, reaffirming the state’s commitment to urban cleanliness and civic engagement.
Navi Mumbai once again claimed the third position among India’s cleanest cities (after Indore and Surat), while also bagging the title of best City in Citizens’ Feedback in the above 10 lakh population category.
Chandrapur made a mark in the 3–10 lakh population segment by clinching the Best City award in the Citizens' Feedback category, whereas Latur was recognised for Best Solid Waste Management in the same category.
Mumbai too found itself on the honours list, Greater Mumbai was named the Best Capital City in Innovation & Best Practices.
President Droupadi Murmu presented the awards in New Delhi on Thursday, celebrating the strides made by cities across India in public sanitation, innovation and community involvement.
