Gwalior Bags State Ministerial Award In Swachh Survekshan 2024, Marks Major Cleanliness Milestone

Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): Gwalior has received a prestigious award in the State Ministerial category under Swachh Survekshan 2024, marking a proud moment for the city.

It is the only city in Madhya Pradesh to be honoured in this particular category.

The award ceremony was held in New Delhi on Thursday, where President Droupadi Murmu honoured the winning cities for their remarkable performance in cleanliness and sanitation under the Swachh Bharat Mission.

A total of eight cities from Madhya Pradesh received awards in various categories this year, with Gwalior standing out for its achievement at the state level.

To participate in the program organized in Delhi, Gwalior Mayor Dr. Shobha Sikarwar, Municipal Commissioner Sangh Priya, Additional Commissioner Munish Singh Sikarwar attended the Delhi program to receive the award. Indore, Ujjain and Budni have got place in the Super Swachh League category.

Bhopal, Dewas and Shahganj have received awards in the President's Award category. Jabalpur has been selected in the Special Ganga City category.

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has given awards in four categories (Super Swachhata League, Presidential Award, Ministerial Award (Special Category) and Ministerial Award (State Level). Indore again crowned as the cleanest city of India for the 8th time in a row. This time Indore tops in Super Swachhata League category.

In the last survey, Gwalior was at number 16. Gwalior has strengthened its claim by improving the processing of waste and strengthening the system of door-to-door garbage collection. Gwalior officers have got a better position.
