Session dwells on life skills

Karnal: Dyal Singh Public school hosted an “In house life skills" session for its teaching faculty on Thursday at its auditorium. The session was conducted by Ambika Kapil, a CBSE-accredited resource person. All teachers enthusiastically participated in the session. The main objective of the session was to equip educators with essential life skills such as decision making, problem solving, effective communication, self- management, empathy and stress management. Ambika highlighted how these vital skills could be seamlessly integrated into classroom teaching, fostering not only academic excellence, but also emotional intelligence among students. Through engaging activities, case studies and group discussions, she demonstrated practical ways to incorporate life skills into everyday teaching-learning process. In her address, she emphasised, “In today’s rapidly changing world, academic knowledge alone is not sufficient. Teachers must be empowered with life skills to help students grow as emotionally and socially balanced individuals.” School Principal Shalini Narang said, “Such sessions not only enhance the personal growth of teachers, but also make their teaching practices more effective, empathetic and student-centric.” The Principal thanked Ambika Kapil for holding the session.
