WATCH: Vaibhav Suryavanshi along with India U -19 team at Lord’s, embracing Jasprit Bumrah, KL Rahul and Sachin Tendulkar’s greatness
New Delhi: India U-19 cricketer Vaibhav Suryavanshi recently visited Lord’s Cricket Ground. The visit was organised by the BCCI specifically for the India U-19 team. Vaibhav had earlier witnessed India captain Shubman Gill’s double century against England at Edgbaston, which was played under the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy.
The entire India U-19 team arrived at Lord’s Cricket Ground, often referred to as the ‘Home of Cricket‘. A video was also shared on the official social media handle of BCCI, which read – “Making unforgettable memories. See how India U-19 had a day at Lord’s Cricket Ground.”
What was shown in the video?
The two minute 31 second video showed the players passing through the Lord’s Long Room and standing on the balcony and admiring the historic ground. At the same time, Vaibhav was seen admiring the Lord’s Honors Board, which had the names of Jasprit Bumrah and KL Rahul recorded. Both of them had put up a valiant performance in the third Test — Bumrah took five wickets while Rahul scored a century, though India lost.
Vaibhav’s emotional moment with Tendulkar
Vaibhav was then seen standing and admiring a huge painting of Sachin Tendulkar. The painting was also displayed ahead of the third Test match at the MCC Museum. It was crafted by Stuart Pearson Wright, who was inspired by an image of Sachin Tendulkar taken 18 years ago. It is said that the painting is currently at the MCC Museum but will later be moved to the pavilion at Lord’s.
Vaibhav’s performance on England tour
Vaibhav is currently on a tour of England, where he scored a total of 355 runs in five innings at an average of 71 in the first ODI series and India won the series 3-2. He then scored a crucial half-century in the second innings in the first match of the two-Test series, helping India draw the match.
