Monsoon Update: Bihar and Rajasthan Grapple with Severe Flooding Amid Monsoon Rains | ABP NEWS

Continuous heavy rainfall has led to rising river levels across Bihar and Rajasthan, triggering serious flood concerns. In Bihar, the Sone River has swelled dangerously after water was suddenly released from the Indrapuri Barrage. On Thursday, a massive 43,348 cusecs of water was discharged, leading to the opening of 67 out of 69 gates. As a result, the water level in the Sone River has risen sharply, prompting authorities to issue alerts and urge residents near riverbanks to evacuate to safer areas. In Jehanabad district, the Falgu and Dardha rivers have caused severe flooding. Falgu has been especially destructive, submerging more than 50 villages. Areas like Jafarganj and Ambedkar Nagar are witnessing near-complete waterlogging, with several embankments breached. Meanwhile, parts of Rajasthan, including Kota and surrounding rural areas, are also grappling with flood-like conditions. Torrential rains have caused severe waterlogging, disrupting daily life. Rajasthan Cabinet Minister Madan Dilawar has called for relief and rescue operations to be carried out on a war footing. As authorities continue monitoring the situation, critical questions remain about damage compensation and long-term flood management.
