Mission Bihar: PM Modi Unveils ₹7,196 Crore Mega Projects in Motihari Ahead of State Polls
In a high-octane political and developmental display, Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Motihari, Bihar, under the banner of Mission Bihar. Riding in a flower-decorated open vehicle, the PM was greeted by massive crowds alongside Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and both Deputy CMs, as he headed to the grand rally venue. The visit, considered a strategic move ahead of the upcoming Bihar Assembly Elections, saw the PM announce projects worth ₹7,196 crore. These include major infrastructure, connectivity, and digital initiatives. From new foundation stone layings to inaugurations, Motihari emerged as the epicenter of promises and political messaging.Crucially, PM Modi’s rally comes at a time when the Nitish-led state government faces intense criticism over worsening law and order, with the opposition reviving the “jungle raj” narrative. Modi’s presence, therefore, also signals BJP’s intent to control the narrative, reasserting the “double engine government’s” performance and unity. The rally is also seen as a tactical attempt to solidify BJP’s grip on East and West Champaran, regions with historic political weight. The presence of key NDA leaders and Governor Rajendra Arlekar on stage reinforced the coalition’s message of strength, stability, and development.
