Saiyaara Review: Mohit Suri & YRF Give Us The Romantic Film We Were Craving For; Ahaan Panday & Aneet Padda Have Nailed It

Saiyaara Review: YRF is nowadays known for making big action films, but there was a time when they produced some wonderful romantic movies. Filmmaker Mohit Suri has also directed some excellent love stories, so when YRF and Mohit Suri teamed up for Saiyaara, we surely expected something amazing, and thankfully, we are not left disappointed. Marking the debut of Ahaan Panday opposite Aneet Padda, Saiyaara has hit the big screens today (July 18, 2025). So, is the film worth your time and money? Read on to know that…

The movie revolves around Krish Kapoor (Ahaan Panday) and Vaani Batra (Aneet Padda).  The former is a musician and singer, and the latter is a writer. They get into a situation where they have to work together for a song. Soon, love blossoms between them. But every love story has a twist. Krish and Vaani’s love story also has to face a big hurdle. So, will there be a happy ending for Krish and Vaani’s love story? To know that, you need to watch the film.

Saiyaara is written by Sankalp Sadanah (story & screenplay) and Rohan Shankar (dialogues), and directed by Mohit Suri. The first half of the movie is all about romance and music. There are some really beautiful romantic moments that will get a smile on your face, and will make you feel love around you while watching the movie.

But the interval block will shock you a bit, and then in the second half, Saiyaara takes the intense-dramatic route. After the interval, there are a couple of romantic scenes, but more than those lovey-dovey moments, the emotional scenes grab our attention, and of course, get tears in our eyes. Climax will also hit the right chords of your hearts.

In the second half, the film’s pace becomes a bit slow, but it doesn’t bore you. Also, the screenplay and the narration style of Suri might remind you of his earlier films. But it is not a copy-paste scenario here. The film is a musical, so in the first half, there’s a song in like every 10-15 minutes, so be prepared for that as well.

Saiyaara Review – Actors’ Performance

Ahaan Panday makes his debut with the film, and he is simply excellent. One of the best male debuts in the past few years. While he is good in the romantic scenes, Ahaan has nailed it in the emotional scenes. After a very long time, we get to watch an actor on the big screen who can cry so well. But, just one thing, he needs to work a bit more on the lip-sync.

Aneet Padda had played a small role in the film Salaam Venky and was seen in the OTT series Big Girls Don’t Cry. But, Saiyaara marks her debut as a lead in movies. She has a great screen presence, looks gorgeous, and has performed very well. Just like Ahaan, even Aneet is simply fantastic in the emotional scenes.

In a romantic film, the most important element is the chemistry between the leads, and even that is just perfect in Saiyaara.

Supporting actors like Rajesh Kumar, Geeta Aggarwal Sharma, Alam Khan, Varun Badola, and Shaan Groverr are good in their respective roles. Especially, Geeta and Alam, both grab our attention the most.

Saiyaara Review – Music

Mohit Suri’s films always have fantastic music, and Saiyaara is no exception. The songs of the movie are amazing, and the title track is so engaging that you will keep humming it even after the film gets over.

Saiyaara Review – Final Verdict

Overall, Saiyaara is undoubtedly one of the best romantic musicals that we have seen in the past few years. It is the romantic film that the audience was craving for.
